The Audigy seems to be the oldest creative card that comes in low profile, I can see Win98 drivers exist, but does anyone know about SB16 emulation in DOS? The card still works fine in Windows

I think I’ve seen an ESS one too. But works fine on my SIS Pentium 4 motherboard.

After restart with F8 and “Command prompt only” i can see the sound card being initialized. Is there a better choice?
Remove meg ram, windows 98 starts to misbehave with out of memory errors and other weird issues if you have more than meg memory installed. Any tips for that?

DOS Sound Blaster compatibility: Which music mode should they be set to to sound the best? Most recently toyed with DOS era stuff 15 years ago, so memory might be rusty. At the moment es11938s im trying to run is Duke 3D which works but obviously no sound. I disabled all unnecessary onboard devices to free resources like ports, built in audio etc.
